[W]hile Pennsylvania-grown may seem like a strange title to promote hemp, one tea company is proud to continue a centuries-long tradition. The state has a deep connection to the plant, dating all the way back to its founding in 1681. William Penn, the same man who founded Pennsylvania, did so with the intention of producing hemp crops and one of the state\u2019s first laws encouraged farmers to grow the versatile plant. Up until 1937, when the Marijuana Tax Act was passed, hemp had been a robust industry for farmers, mill operators, and those utilizing the product.<\/p>\n

That long farming tradition is being revived today thanks to producers such as Kreider Farms and their new RTD Chiques Creek Hemp Tea line. The new line includes three flavors, Original Recipe, Passionfruit + Mint, and Peach + Lemon + Dandelion. None of the teas contain CBD or THC as they are not FDA approved, but Kreider Farms says they map pursue recipe alterations in the future as regulations change.<\/p>\n
