[C]onstructed in 1850, the building that now houses Caf\u00e9 Otis<\/a> began its life as the first-ever library in Norwich, Connecticut. The library was a gift to the city from Joseph Otis, and has been fittingly been transformed into another kind of community hub. Founder and owner Nancy Isa grew up in the town and decided to fulfill her dream of entrepreneurship when she saw the historic building was available.<\/p>\n

Isa is also opening the Nine Mile Market within the former library as well. The market will sell local products from small artisan vendors in Connecticut and the greater New England region.<\/p>\n

Caf\u00e9 Otis officially opened for business Monday, March 18. The space includes full restaurant service featuring Mediterranean dishes, fresh pressed juices, smoothies, coffee, and tea, as well as a full bar and lounge.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
