I was desperate to get more customers in the door of my coffee shop and had tried a number of marketing methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At this point, exhausted physically, mentally \u2015 and financially \u2015 I was at my breaking point. What else could I do? Move to another location? Offer more inexpensive prices? Spend even more on social media ads?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I knew I had to do something, and fast. My mind swirled with ideas, but I didn\u2019t know what to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then suddenly, it hit me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was so simple. It wasn\u2019t expensive. And I was optimistic it would work.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Most Helpful Tip<br><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the most helpful things I started asking my customers was simply, \u201cHow did you find my business?\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Easy, I know. But do you know how your customers found you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWord of mouth\u201d was the most frequent answer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The reason customers came to my caf\u00e9 was because they had already received a word-of-mouth first impression of having high-quality coffee, a hip atmosphere, and good customer service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First impressions really do matter. But referrals and word of mouth aren\u2019t scalable. So, how do you get more sales?<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you\u2019re looking to try a new restaurant nearby, what do you do? You go online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, ask yourself: \u201cWhat kind of <g class=\"gr_ gr_7 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar only-ins replaceWithoutSep\" id=\"7\" data-gr-id=\"7\">first<\/g> impression does my website make?\u201d<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1015\" height=\"767\" src=\"https:\/\/freshcup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Website_Support_1015.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20359\" srcset=\"https:\/\/freshcup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Website_Support_1015.jpg 1015w, https:\/\/freshcup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Website_Support_1015-500x378.jpg 500w, https:\/\/freshcup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Website_Support_1015-768x580.jpg 768w, https:\/\/freshcup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Website_Support_1015-200x151.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Turning Your Website Into a Sales Driver<br><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s start at the very beginning. Look at your website and ask yourself these questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>What\u2019s my website\u2019s goal? To get more walk-ins? New wholesale inquiries? More e-commerce sales?<\/li><li> If you have a caf\u00e9, will your customers feel as if they have experienced your caf\u00e9 by the time they get directions?<\/li><li> If you have an e-commerce site, do your customers have an expectation as to what kinds of flavors you offer in your coffees and teas?<\/li><li> If you offer wholesale, do your customers understand your process, and have you answered the FAQs?<\/li><li> Are you tracking how many people come to your website with the number of orders you receive?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>E-commerce websites can be more in-depth, but the principles are the same. Use descriptions to show the flavors and tasting notes of your coffee. Pictures of the product and the product packaging are important. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re offering wholesale coffee, you should describe the differentiators and frequently asked questions. How is your wholesale delivered? Do you white-label your products? Give potential customers the information they need to feel comfortable filling out an inquiry form\u2014then let your coffee itself finalize the sale.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creating a New Scalable Funnel<br><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>To kickstart your online business, put yourself in your customers\u2019 shoes: What would a new visitor to your site like to see?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some key elements to include on your homepage include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Several pictures (and maybe even a video), which pulls the user into the page.<\/li><li> Two to three sentences describing what sets your coffee and coffee shop apart.<\/li><li> The different ways someone can get coffee from you (caf\u00e9, wholesale business, e-commerce, coffee subscription, etc.).<\/li><li> The location of your business and the hours of operation.<\/li><li> Links to sub-pages for the different ways customers can access your coffee (in-store, subscription, wholesale, etc.).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, from those the sub-pages, you can focus on what they want\u2015such as wholesale, e-commerce, or the like\u2015and list these items:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>How the business is unique.<\/li><li> Frequently Asked Questions<\/li><li> First-time customers may want to try your coffee first. Offer options like a free trial subscription, in-store cuppings, etc.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>After I implemented these methods in my caf\u00e9\u2019s website, I was generating four to five more new wholesale inquiries per week, some of which were worth more than $1,000 per month.
